Effects of Application of Super AbsorbentPolymers on Grape Cultivation

An orthogonal experiment was carried out to study the effects of superabsorbent polymers used on grape cultivation. The effects on soil moisture, yield andthe quality (the resoluble solid content, berry weight, the rate of the first-degree cluster)of grape were studied. The effects of super absorbent polymers applied with the otherdrought resistant and water saving agents were also discussed, such as FAHandilong (FA) and BGA Soil Activate Agent (BGA). The experiment data show thatthe super absorbent polymers could effectively improve the soil moisture and increasethe yield and the quality of the grape. The treatments with FA and BGA obtained thebetter effect. The economic and technical feasibility of super absorbent polymersapplication on grape cultivation was also analyzed in this paper.
