PV PLANTS MONITORING NETWORK IN SECONDARY CENTRES IN BASQUE COUNTRY

In order to strengthen the use of RES, and Solar PV energy in particular, EVE (the Basque EnergyBoard) has designed a global strategy to install 920 kWp solar power in Secondary Educational Centres (SEC) in theBasque Country. In 2.002 and 2003 110 PV plants of 5 kW were installed. In later phases, the network of SECs willincrease up to 400. ROBOTIKER, in collaboration with EVE, has developed a monitoring system for the installedPV plants, based on SOLARVIEW? product. The system consists in a monitoring package for each SEC and amonitoring software for EVE, capable of managing the whole PV installations. The results show that this first phasehas been welcomed among the Basque society, mainly in the educational sector. Additionally, the social impact in themedium-long term is expected to be very large, in part because of the nature of the selected sites.
