In June 2003 a project in south central Oklahoma incorporatedthe first use of an expandable metal casing patch technology torepair a damaged well bore casing section. The cladding wasdeployed to correct a casing collapse problem that occurredwhen an offset injector well went online and caused theexisting casing to fail. The well has been an oil producer andwas originally drilled in the early 1950s. This technologyprovides the operator with the ability to create a definitivecasing repair with pressure integrity and minimalwell restriction.
