ETICAL ISSUES WHICH INFLUENCES INTERNATIONAL E-COMMERCE MANAGEMENT

In the United States and Europe, a heated debate has developed over e-commerce customers’ right to privacy and e-commerce companies’ ability to take advantage of the efficiencies of sophisticated tracking of customer behavior. For technology managers who work in international organizations doing business in other areas of the world, especially those businesses setting up in Asia, such a debate may seem a luxury as those Asian companies face a series of market-influencing ethics and other issues that can easily break an e-commerce business’s shaky foundations. These issues, many of which are related to the ethics already established in the local marketplace, affect not simply the company’s business methods, but go beyond to influence the whole environment in which business is conducted.
