Rehabilitation Design of the Fort Pitt Bridge

The focal point of the Fort Pitt Bridge Rehabilitation project is a 750-foot steel tied-arch structurewith a 25-foot deep truss tie member.The bridge carries a total of eight lanes of traffic on an upper and lowerdeck.This paper will provide insight into the challenges faced during the rehabilitation design.
