摘要

To be able to describe the visual content of an image in an open context is an open problem. Here we show our experience in applying a multiresolution analysis to assist in the process of codesign in textile industry. In this paper we hypothetize about how to use a multiresolution approach as a technique for describing images of textile design. We use wavelets as the basic functions to implement this analysis. The results show that this technique may be a first stage to improve the steps of segmentation, object identification, and automatic description of the contents of a textile collection in order to implement a content based image retrieval system (CBIR).
