ORAL DELIVERY OF RECOMBINANT HUMAN GROWTH HORMONE (rhGH)

Oral delivery of recombinant human growth hormone (rhGH) was demonstrated in preclinical studies using EMISPHERE~(~R) oral drug delivery technology. After dosing rhGH/delivery agent (DA) aqueous solutions in rats and rhGH/DA powder capsules in primates, the peak serum rhGH concentration, achieved within 15-30 min, was much higher than the "therapeutic" target of 10-20 ng/mL.
