The use of low-thickness crystalline silicon solar cells is one of the most obvious ways to reduce the cost of PV solar energy. Besides being cheaper, low-thickness silicon substrates allow the manufacturing of a large variety of solar cells structures, like back-contact cells or bifacial cells, using low quality and low cost materials. In this paper we present some results of processing thin solar cells, using industrial CZ silicon and a simple manufacturing process based in the boron deposition and diffusion by the screen-printing technique.
