Rare earth elements geochemistry in waters from granodiorites of Central Sardinia, Italy

REE concentrations were determined in seventeen groundwaters and five surface waters of the Ottana-Orani area (Central Sardinia, Italy), characterised by a geochemical REE anomaly associated with albititic bodies hosted in Hercynian granodiorites. The REE patterns in the groundwaters roughly reflect the REE distribution in the parent rocks, except for the Ce anomaly which is pH-dependent. Fractionation between LREE and HREE in the waters is lower than in the rocks, indicating greater HREE mobility in the aqueous solution.
