A kind of measuring method called intersection measurement with dual line-scan CCD is introduced in this paper. However, there are several factors that may cause the measuring error of coordinate. In order to obtain high measuring accuracy, a method of optimization-design for structure parameters of CCD intersection measurement system is developed. First, a mathematical model for the system is established. The formulas to orient the position are derived. Error is analyzed by using the mathematical model. We can find that many factors cause the measuring error of coordinate. The conclusion is that structure parameters affect the precision of the measuring of coordinate. Then four conditions of the optimum structure parameters are presented reasonably. Third, computer simulation of optimization-design for structure parameters is introduced. From results, we draw a very significant conclusion that the optical axes of dual line-scan CCD cameras should be perpendicular to each other.
