TECHNOLOGY INTEGRATED LEARNING ENVIRONMENT - A WEB_BASED DISTANCE LEARNING SYSTEM

摘要

This paper analyses the requirements of a third-generation tool for a technology integrated learning environment. The architecture is analysed in terms of the generic constraints of a general distributed system, such as performance, scalability, platform independence and security issues. We have also considered the pedagogical issues and the modes of use in which a student is likely to access the educational material. The result of this analysis is an architecture that will scale well with numbers of students and will be able to support a variety of emerging pedagogical models. This paper defines an architecture that has been implemented as a prototype.
