摘要

In this study, the shape optimization of a golf club head is investigated. The impact phenomena between golf clubs and golf balls are studied at first. The release velocity and sidespin of the ball after impact with golf clubs are evaluated through numerical simulations. Not only the normal hollow head, but also various heads of 2-D model with different topology are investigated in order to examine the performances and features of the heads. We also try to apply the basis vector method for the optimal design of thickness distribution of a club head. The problem of minimizing the release velocity of the ball is treated. The numerical example shows that this approach is effective to optimal design of golf club head.
