A Discussion on Abstract Structure of Design Knowledge for Space Arrangement in Architectural Design

This paper proposes an abstract structure of the design knowledge of space arrangement in architectural design, and discusses the abstract structure itself. By means of a prototype implementation of CAD system, we obtain the entire concrete knowledge which is proved by architects. Then, we extract an abstract structure which is mainly composed of space inclusion and connection associations by analyzing the knowledge. Then, we discuss the comprehensibility of the abstract structure.
