Accurate prognostic models that are capable of predicting future component failure rates or performance degradation rates for turbine-generator (T-G) componetns are for optimizing the timing of major T-G maintenance overhalus. As part of the EPRI sponsored program Turbo-X (TURBine Outage Interval eXtension), prognostic models have been developed for many of the critical T-G components that utilize state-of-the-art probabilistic modeling and anlaysis technolgies. Some of the specific component prognostic models that have been developed include HP/IP/LP blades/discks, rotor bore and periphery, casings and stationary sections, genrator retaining rings and tooth tops, and performanc edegradation of turbine sections.
