THE THIRD PHASE DEVELOPMENT STRATEGY OFAN ADVANCED MULTIMODAL TRANSPORTINFORMATION SYSTEM IN KOREA

The project of developing a real-time multimodal transport information system, which beganin March of 1995, is composed of three phases. The first phase ended in September of 1996,concentrating on developing the intercity/rural highway traffic monitoring system, publictransport information system and information-providing system. The second phase ended inDecember of 1997, concentrating on improving and expanding the system developed in thefirst phase. The third phase is under planning stage. In this paper the case studies of the firstand second phase are presented, which includes the contents of furnished information, detailsof the developed systems and results of the test operations. Also, the development strategy ofthe third phase is presented.
