摘要

In order to solve different sorts of road traffic problems, using a high data communicationtechnology, the research and development of ITS (Intelligent Transport Systems) is makingprogress. In Japan, cutting the edge of ITS, experimental application of the ETC (ElectronicToll Collection) system has started. The ETC system employs DSRC (Dedicated Short RangeCommunication), whose further enhancement and application are expected in the future. As aroad-vehicle radio communication standard, DSRC was settled as the STD-T55 standard ofARIB (Association of Radio Industries and Businesses) on November 27, 1997.To spread widely and promote ITS services that employ DSRC, this paper reports the resultsobtained in the research and development of the DSRC platform, which stands between theDSRC and the AP (Application), and above all, those obtained in the research anddevelopment of the sub-platform for low-resource on-board equipment (OBE).
