Location services will expand the areas of the mobile communication services and improveoverall quality of life. Additionally, these services will enrich ITS business areas by sharingcommon resource of information and supporting the location-related ITS based services.NTT DoCoMo has recently commenced the PHS-based location service named “Ima-DokoService” and the GPS-besed location service named “DoCo-Navi Service”.In this paper, we discuss the segmentation of location service application complying the 4definitions, and introduce our current commercial services, “Ima-Doko Service” and“Doko-Navi Serive”, and strengthen our conclusion that successful mutual prosperity betweenlocation service businesses and ITS development.
