THE NATIONAL ITS STRETEGIC PLAN IN KOREAFOR THE 21ST CENTURY

This paper focused on introducing direction of revision on the national ITS strategic plan inKorea. In the background, development process for the national strategic plan of 1997 wasreviewed, and included needs for its revision for the 21st century. Newly defined serviceareas, timetable, and budget were explained in the main body of the paper. One of the mainfindings in the process of revision of the national strategic plan for the 21st century was thatITS should reflect end users’ needs in establishing its goals and objectives.
