摘要

In this paper, the Infinite Element Method (IEM) is presented for solutions of 2-D open boundary field problems. The general IEM is described first, and then such algorithm is extended to circular regions in order to avert complex operations of generalized eigenvalue problems and reduce computational costs. It is shown, by calculations of two numerical results, that the new IEM is an efficient and valuable approach for dealing with unbounded problems.
