The hysteresis losses in the steel plates of TEAM Problem 21 are calculated by using H directly as state variable. The boundary conditions of the steel palte regions are provided by means of the surface impedance method based on two scalar magnetic potentials. The sum of the eddy current and hysteresis losses calculated of the steel plates is consistent with the total steel plate loss measured, so the validity of the presented method is verified.
