We have done examination by using the method of genetic algorithm about the optimum design of the hybrid composites with damping properties. The composite regarded as the analytical object was the matrix hybrid composite. The composite was consisted of chopped strand glass mat as reinforcmenet and both conventional and flexible matrix resin. Dynamic and static analyses have carried out on the composite materials with damping properties. In this case, conventional and flexible composites were supposed isotropic materials respectively. However, the result of static analysis differed largely from experimental value. Because of this, it has become important to decide material properties of flexible composite in the design of such mateiral. Therefore, material properties of flexible composite were searched by using the method of genetic algorithm. Furthermore, we investigated about the prediction of the damping properties and static bending properties of hybrid composite by using the searched optimum material properties of homogeneous composite.
