This paper provides a brief and non-technical overview of the purpose behind and the scope of design guidance produced over the last ten years for structural steel use in buildings. A wide range (but not exhaustive) of design guidance is covered, with an emphasis on design for durability. References to more detailed sources of information are given, along with contact details from which this additional information can be obtained.
