The Development of Coal Hydrogasification Technology to secure a stable supply ofsubstitute natural gas (SNG) from coal at low cost has been performed from FY 1996 as a partof the Japanese governmental new energy program called the New Sunshine Project.In the first step which is approved as the Development of Elemental Technology, there arethree researches; Experimental Research, Supporting Research and Research on SoialAdaptability.Experimental Research consists of two developments; Development of New Coal Gasifier andDevelopment of Peripheral Technology for the gasifier.
