The paper considers the longitudinal and side launching of ships and offshore structures from a horizontal berth by tipping tables. The launching process is split into six phases and a system of nonlinear differential equations of motion is established. The system is solved by the finite difference method and the procedure is coded. Numerical calculations and model tests of longitudinal launching of a semisubmersible platform and side launching of a large tanker are performed. Advantages of building floating structures on a horizontal berth are pointed out.
