Automatic Selection of Soundings Toward a Dynamic Method for Nautical Chart Generalisation

In a nautical geographic database, the increasingly huge amount of data to process implies that the traditional methods of selection and those used for upgrading can no longer be applied. As a matter of fact, they are currently organised to process the whole set of data, and they become heavy on computation time - i.e to update locally the data. This article presents a method based on the transformation of a global method to a local one using the concurrency of sounding processing.
