It is very important to prepare chemical sensors which can work quickly, accurately and easily in petroleum, chemistry, food, machinery, clinical and environmental industries. Because sulfate is at the end of Hofmeister pattern, it is difficult to prepare a sulfate-selective chemical sensor. No commercial sulfate-sensitive chemical sensors exist now. Only few chemical sensors based on sulfate-sensitive poly(vinyl chloride ) (PVC) membrane were reported'11, and they did not work well. Moreover, they had some inherent defects of PVC membrane chemical sensors, such as poor mechanic property and poor stability.
