Maturation of FPSOs leads to future operating, schedule and cost efficiencies

The much publicized over-runs in FPSO costs and schedules indicates this may be more of a function of the just past boom and consequent people and skills shortages than intrinsic to FPSOs, e.g benchmark data on MODUs of similar CAPEX and fewer interfaces often had similar s ituations. Operational experience in harsh environments takes hold as feedback is used in improving production efficiencies in FPSO design, and enhanced uptime performance leads to expectations of reliably high productivity with "super safe and squeaky clean" performance in future.
