Generation mechanism of tire/road noise part 1: tire vibration caused by road roughness

Tire/road noise reduction is essential for the abatement of road traffic noise. For this aim, the noise generation mechanism have to be clarified. The authors performed two investigations, one into the tire vibration characteristics presented in this paper, and the other into pipe resonance phenomenon presented in Part 2 [1].
