This work addresses finned-tube heat exchangers for airconditioning applications. Special fin geometries were built to compare the performance of the herringbone wavy and smooth wavy fin geometries for the same wave pitch and wave height. Also, the correlation of Kim et al. was used to identify a wavy fin geometry having higher performnace than those typically used. Data were taken to compare the performance of these two smooth wavy fin geometries. Further, the ability of the Kim et al. correlation to predict the herringobne data is evaluated.
