摘要

The objective of this paper is to show the applicability in the field of passive seismicprotection of a thermomechanical constitutive model for Shape Memory Alloys (SMA). The modelis developed in the framework of an internal variable formulation and it is implemented, in its uniaxialsettlement, within the well known Drain 3dx finite element code. Numerical simulations ofthe response of reinforced concrete structures under earthquake excitation are presented showinghow this finite element can be considered an useful tool for seismic structural analyses.
