BIOINSPIRED DRY ADHESIVES FOR MEDICAL APPLICATION

Samples with a Young's Modulus of 1.5 MPa and mushroom-shaped structures show best adhesion against skin. Samples with tuned cap Modulus of 1.15 MPa and an aspect ratio of 1.5 exhibit the highest pull-off force for adhesion measurements against glass. Experiments against PDMS show that patterns with the stiffest caps having a Modulus of 2.22 MPa and an aspect ratio of 0.9 demonstrate best adhesion.
