'Solid waste management under the usepa resource conservation and recovery act (RCRA)'

The United States Environmental Proctection agency ("USEPA") regulates the disposal of solid waste under the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act ("RCRA"). RCRA, passed by Congress in 1976, was established to regulate the disposal of residential, muniqcipal, industrial and commercial waste. The objectives and goals of RCRA include: the protection of human health and the environment from the otential hazards of waste; the conservation of energy and natural resources; the reductiohn of waste generated; and to ensure the environmental sound management of wastes.
