Efficient gunning repairs of steel melting units like BOF, EAF and ladles require top quality gunning mixes and a sophisticated know how in the application of these products. With regard to the respective special demands in the various applications, we had to define this concept of optimum top quality in a new way. Silicate bonded mixes with special binder combinations on the one hand and phosphate bonded mixes sometimes with lime rich magnesia protions on the other hand are two solutions.
