摘要

A new criterion for evaluating the performance of enhanced heat transfer surfaces is proposed.This method is based on thermoeconomics analysis and can be applied to various augmentation techniques and various design constraints.It generalizes the performance evaluation criteria (PEC) for enhanced heat transfer techniques obtained by means of the first and second law analysis.The validity of the new performance evaluation criterion is illustrated by analyses of heat transfer and fluid friction characteristics and assessment of heat transfer surface cost of three dimensional internally finned tubes and spiral ridging tubes.
