摘要

This paper describes the technical definition and complete optimization fo a lean-brun natural gas powered engine designed for commercial vehicles.on the basis of fidings from simulation using the KIVA-MB computer code,combustion chambers of three differetn shapes were selected,meeting specific air flow motion criteria.engine tests were then carried out to deteermine the chamber shape best suited to lean-burn oepration.the excellent performance achieved by the synthetic version,an equivalence ratio in stable operation of less than 0.6 over a large range of speeds and loads,demonstrated the vaildity of the concpet in terms of emissins -consumption trade-off.The next step will be the assessment of both an engine control system specifically for this vehicle and the requreid strategies,taking such factors as variations in natural gas ocmposition into account.
