Aconceptual design of the field pilot test utilizing IGT's Manufactured Gas Plant remediation (MGP-REM) technology,has been prepared and is presented in this paper,The objectives of the pilot test are to effectively remove the free porduct,treat the leachable contaminants in soil and groundwater in-situ,and collect pilot performance and economics data for full-0scale implementation.The pilot design utilizes two side-by-side 7.6m(25-foot) squire plots containing 5-spot pattern wells in each to achieve a no flow barrier,an efficient sweep of the contaminants,and ease of data collection and interpretation.the objectives of the pilot test will be met by runnign several conditioning tests,followed by the chemical and biologicla treatability tests,and by conducting a detailed monitoring program to guide the pilot operations and evauation of the effectiveness of the treatment.
