Hydrogen systems safety assessment and reisk-reduction

At the XI World Hydrogen Energy Conference (WHEC), we presented a computer simulation of the explosion of a high-pressure hydrogen tank and introduced SRI's novel accident analysis computer algorithm (AACA~*). The AACA is a fast-running PC-based program that calculates and graphically displays the hazard ranges in easily-discernible color contrours. Becasue the calculation results are displayed within a few second, the AACA allows safety engineers to quickly assess any positualted accident scenario and select the appropriate risk-reduction measures.
