To obtain stable ligninolytic activities in organic media, a peptide-hydrolyzed cyto-chrome c (microperoxidase-11), a dendritic porphyrin, and a sufactant-coated MnP (MnP complex) were prepared. Microperoxidase-11 was very stable in water miscible solvents such as methanol and ethanol, showing MnP activity as well as peroxidase activity. The dendritic porphyrin oxidized either veratryl alcohol or 2, 6-dimethoxyphelol in benzene and choloroform. MnP complex was soluble in dry benzene where it catalyzed Mn~(11)-dependent oxidation of a series of aromatic substrates.
