Effect of fused spinel contents on the properties of corundum-based castables was studied.The results indicated that with the increase of fused spinel addition,the flowability of castable improves and the apparent porosity of fired specimens decreases.With the addition of about 10 wt％ spinel,the HMOR and the thermal shock resistance are the best,which is related to the fact that spinel inhibits the growth degree of CA6 crystal.
