A decision support system in electron beam welding

摘要

This paper contains a description of a decision support system in field of electron beam welding. Electron beam welding (EBW) process is quite complex and depends on a number of input variables which correspond to material and EBW device properties. At the moment the full mathematical model of EBW process is not known. Thus in order to elaborate a new technology one has t perform series of experiments with involvement fo an EBW expert whose knowledge and experience ensures an optimal solution searching process. That is why the whole process of developing a new technology seems to be quite complicated, time-consuming and costly. Nevertheless, it can be improved by developing the EBW decision support system which would take part of an expert in a technology development process.
