Castaic Lake Water Agency (CLWA) is a wholesale water agency located in Los Angeles and Ventura Counties.CLWA is a contractor of the California State Water Project,with an entitlement of 54,200 acre feet of water, (An acre foot is equal to 325,872 gallons of water.) CLWA's service area is approximately 195 square miles,encompassing the,Santa clarita Valley in northern Los Angeles County.The population in 1990 was approximately 140,000.The County and City planning agencies expect the population to increase to 270,000 by the year 2010.
