摘要

Due to the high aggressiveness of bus accidents involving roll over, not only static and dynamic load conditions but also roll over energy absorption criteria have to be taken into account. That was the reason for the appearance of the Regulation 66 of Geneva. This paper shows a roll over test simulation technique of either metallic or composite buses. By means of this technique, the behavior against roll over of a metallic bus structure and a composite one was analyzed. Finally, a study on the benefits obtained adding a external energy absorber on each lateral upper edge of a bus structure was carried out.
