Self-weight consolidation behavior of fluid clay

摘要

The centrifuge self-weight consolidation test on fluid clays is able to reproduce the behavior of a relative thick layer even if a thin clay sediment is used. It is convenient and useful to measure automatically the settlement of the sediment. Inthis paper, the measuring system using a laser transducer is developed for the centrifuge self-weight consolidation test, the centrifuge self-weight consolidation test is reported, and the consolidation constants of clay from extremely low to standardstress level are evaluated by the water content distribution and the numerical simulation of self-weight consolidation.
