An existing rotating bioloical contactor (RBC) treatment process was replaced with an activated sludge system using fine bubble flexible membrane aeration preceded by an anaerobic selector for the 4,500 m~3/d flow.A new final clarifier,pump stations,and a chemicla control and operating building were also part of the project.The design was customized to use the small,narrow strip of property set aside for the facility and special attention was paid to demolitions,and construction sequencing to ensure most of the RBC proces operated until the new system was commissioned.
