The project of solar power plant with output electric power 1.5 MW was developed in Russia in 1992-1994. It forecasted the construction in the health resort (spa) city Kislovodsk located at the Northern Caucasus of the solar power plant, that can be used for combined production both of electric and thermal energy. The development of project was financed by Joint Stock Company RAO EES and consisted of two stage of development: the feasibility study of plant creation and the business plan for its construction. The feasibility study of plant construction forecasts beside the output of necessary calculation documentation the coordination with a local administration of Stavropol krai of a question about the allocation of site for KSPP construction. The business plan forecasted the evaluation of capital investments for the plant creation, the substantiation of expediency of these investments and the strategy of financing of scientific-research works and plant's construction, the analysis of project's economic indices. The main goal of experimental KSPP project is the creation of domestic basic technologies for the solar energy conversion and their testing in the constructed plant of comparatively small power for decreasing the level of economical risk in constructing the similar solar power plants in Russia and the CIS-states, where the demand of them is very high. This article summarizes the main results of R&D fulfilled within the framework of KSPP project at the present time.
