A post-acceleration beam-chopper for fast neutron spectrometry

We discuss the use and the installation of a post-acceleration beam-chopper a a necessary device in high resolution, large bandwidth spectrometry of fast neutrons based on time-of-flight measurements around a medium energy cyclotron. The energy resolution of the system is checked by measuring the structure of the total neutron cross-section for carbon in the 2-12MeV domain.
