Controlling fugitive material at conveyor transfer points has been a problem from the time the conveyor belt was first invented. Cleaning up material lost from conveyors has cost the solids handling industries millions of dollars a year, year after year. Shoveling the same piles of material lost form conveyors, day ater day, continues to drain maintenance budgets.The value of components damaged or prematurely worn by fugitive dust exceeds millions of dollars. The costs for avoidable regulatory citations also continue to escalate.
