Vertical gas-liquid pipe flows have bene investigated experimentally using an air-water two phase system. A particular interest is given in a region where the cross sectional area of the pipe suddenly increases 50mm to 100mm in diameters. Only the bubbly flow regime is considered in the present work. In the course of experiments the liquid flow velocity in the pipe is varied from 0.2 to 0.8 m/s, while the amount of air injected is kept constant.
