Experimental investigation of airflow distribution in greenhouses and buildings is important for vegetation production as well as for animal and human comfort. This kind of experimental study on airflow fields requires instruments that are not available commercially. In this paper, an ultrasonic anemometer system has been developed to measure the instantaneous wind speed and direction at 12 points at the same time. The properties of the system are verified and validated by a commercial sonic anemometer and a mass flow controller. The successful application of the system to measurement of the greenhouse air movement shows that it can be used for the measurement of velocity fields in animal houses and buildings.
