The application of waste tires as crumb rubber modified asphalt concrete

Due to the increasing number of automobiles, the amount of waste tires has climbed up to 100,000 tones each year in Taiwan. The disposal of waste tires has befuddled the government and general public for the past ten years. Various scrap tires disposal techniques have been proposed and tested. Nonetheless, the precarious scrap tires disposal market failed to ensure any efflorescence of those techniques in Taiwan. Those non-technical obstacles include public antagonism toward TDF, trait demand of comb rubber market and high capital investment of pyrolysis/cogen process.
